A comprehensive training programme designed to deliver accurate information and communicate in a non-discriminatory manner
At a time when the media is challenged by a polarising discourse on heated issues, such as immigration, it is important to take a step back and share the tools needed to ensure that news reporting is accurate and non-discriminatory. From March 25, 2026, the online training course ‘More correct Information, Less Discrimination’ is available. The course has been developed within MILD, a European project coordinated by Lunaria in collaboration with Carta di Roma, African Media Association Malta, Antigone and Maldita.es. The project aims to strengthen the skills of the journalism and activism sectors in monitoring and countering disinformation about migrant and racialised people, through research, training and communication campaigns.
This online training course is aimed at journalists, journalism students, communicators working in the field of activism, and content creators. The aim is to help improve the quality of information and communication regarding racialised people and the issue of migration.
The course consists of five modules which, through interactive activities, explore various aspects of information and communication:
- Module 1: Addressing racist and discriminatory language in media
- Module 2: Narratives on migration
- Module 3: The risk of stigmatization and racialization through images and videos
- Module 4: Media literacy
- Module 5: Building new narratives and developing cooperation
The course is available in four languages – Italian, English, Spanish and Greek – and is completely free and accessible at any time, allowing participants to study at a pace and in a way that suits their own schedule and needs.
