10-01-2018, Castelnuovo (TE) – Abruzzo
An asylum seeker from Cameroon, Sadar Bahar, known as Elia, wasverbally attacked while waiting for the bus to go home, the reception centre where he lives. He was waiting at the bus stop when four Italian citizensapproached him, got out of their car and started insulting him with racist expressions and then spat him. They quickly escaped without leaving any trace. The boy decided not to file a complaint.
13-01-2018, Pomigliano (NA) – Campania
Around 9:30 pm, a 16-year-old Moroccan boy wasapproached by a group of young people he did not know in front of the ‘Policlinico’ subway station. The group was aged between 16 and 18 years old. At first, they insulted him, then hit him in the face with a fist, breaking his nose. The victim run away back home and later went to the hospital with his parents, where he was reported with a prognosis of 30 days. The Carabinieri clarified that: “the racial reason has nothing to do with this case”. However, the young aggressors provided another story: apparently the group in action with a chain chose its victims of the beating with a striking clarity saying: “Let’s beat all the black people”.
21-01-2018, Ostia (RM) – Lazio
Two 17-year-old Egyptian boys, guests of a foster home in Tarquinia, were insulted with racist expressions, then assaulted by four local youths, aged between 10 and 18 years old. They were also threatened with the blows of a blank pistol. “Niggers! You cannot stand in here, if you do not leave you’re gonna get into troubles!”: this is the sentence that gave start to the argument in the park of Ener Bettica Square. Thanks to the two 17-year-old victims’ account, as well as other testimonies, the police quickly identified the person who fired shots: a 17 year old buy already known by the police. The boy was reported for aggravated threat and possession of objectswith intent to damage or destroy property. Investigations are continuing so to identify the others responsible of the attack.
26-01-2018, Cagliari (CA) – Sardinia
In via Roma, the main street in the city centre, an Italian citizen from Cagliari, Alessio Cocco (40-year-old) shoot and wounded the legof an 18-year-old boy from Gambia, Hally Nyassi, after a quarrel at the bus stop. “He’s a racist, do not call him crazy. He came here, looked at us, said something and then fired at my friend” one of the victim’s acquaintances said.
