This mapping identifies offices and services present throughout the country which provide support to migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and victims of discrimination and racist violence.
Administrative, legal and social support services are surveyed; social secretarial services and orientation to services in the area. In addition, the mapping covers centres and services that provide psychological and healthcare support, as well as linguistic assistance, including Italian language courses and/or language test booking services. Counselling centres and institutions providing employment guidance are also reported, as well as anti-discrimination services that offer legal, social, and/or psychological support to victims of discrimination and racist violence.
The mapping is the outcome of thorough research and updates conducted by a team of volunteers performing Universal Civil Service at Lunaria. Consequently, this is an ongoing process which ought to be enhanced through regular updates. As of today, the Italian regions covered by the mapping are: Calabria, Campania, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Lombardy, Piedmont, Apulia, Sicily, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and Veneto.
Disseminating up-to-date information about services in the area is very important: the presence of a well-developed support system and local services can make it easier to report and denounce discriminatory acts or to seek assistance in claiming one’s rights.
