An amateur video posted on social media (the original post is on the Facebook page “Riprendiamoci Roma”), arose a wave of strong indignation on the web. Shot on a train on the Rome-Lido line, around 9.30pm, it shows some images of a racist attack pursued by two men (shaven heads, ed) against a Indian citizen. The dispute became increasingly violent and degenerated when the victim had a shy verbal reaction, after being silent for too long bearing all the racist insults they shouted at him. At the Casal Bernocchi station, the physical aggression sprung all of a sudden. One of the two attackers grabbed the boy’s head and hurled a violent fist at him. Some passengers intervened to defend the boy and the man directed punches and shoves to those who intervened, blindly, striking a woman in the face. As she sit on the floor, crying with blood all over her face looking for a handkerchief, the aggression continued on the platform, out of the camera sight. Suddenly, the victim’s body was thrown on the train floor violently, after being hit several times on the face. The man remained unconscious for few moments. Then he was rescued by the other passengers. Meanwhile the attackers fled away. The soldiers of Acilia station identified and blocked the two attackers. But neither the woman nor the Indian citizen wanted to file a complaint about what happened.
