Palazzo San Gervasio, like all the other CPRs in Italy and Albania, is a place of deprivation of freedom and rights, where the profit of the management bodies is added to the racialization carried out by Italy and the West , where people are killed through torture, psychotropic drugs and repugnant food.

We will be in front of the CPR of Palazzo San Gervasio almost a year after the state murder of Oussama Darakaoui . A death linked like many others to the abuse of psychotropic drugs perpetrated inside detention centers for foreign citizens.

Oussama died during the management of Officine Sociali, which will manage the CPR in the province of Potenza for at least another two years , despite staffing gaps, lack of services offered and deficiencies in services. Officine Sociali has taken over with Engel starting in 2023.

We believe it is important to be in mass in front of the CPRs, even in front of the most isolated ones . The institution’s search for peripheral spaces, in which to make people and their resistance invisible, is a very clear project that we strongly oppose.

We will also be in front of the CPR to reiterate that the blackmail of work and the power games that in Basilicata bear the name of historic management bodies can be broken through support for territorial struggles.
